Last week, I had the joy of volunteering at the UN Inclusive Sports Camp in Vienna. An incredible initiative that brings children together to experience the power and playfulness of sport.
A huge thank you to Sahar Tabbal and Bob Schwarz for their hard work and guidance throughout the week. Their dedication made the camp not only possible but truly special.
Watching Coach Bob (called Coach Waffle by the kids) support each child in discovering their unique strengths and favourite sports — and then guiding parents towards the sport that truly resonates with their child — was something I’ll treasure.
It was a beautiful reminder of how inclusive and joyful sports can be when approached with care, creativity, and heart.

Wonderful is the best way to describe this summer camp, which my sparky 7-year-old daughter with Down Syndrome was lucky enough to attend in July 2025. Despite the weather, the week was full of new experiences, friends and genuine care from the hosts, Sahar and Bob, alongside a few other friendly professional trainers and a dozen young volunteers. Soccer, tennis, dance, painting and pizza(!) were all on the menu -- and my daughter can't wait for the next instalment!
